Vladimir Isaakovich Erlikh — Sunflowers, Oil on Canvas

A vibrant mid-20th-century oil painting by Vladimir Isaakovich Erlikh (1924–2001), depicting a richly worked still life of sunflowers and wild flowers against a deep green ground. The composition is full of movement, with thick, expressive brushwork and strong contrasts between the bright yellow flower heads, blue and white accents, and the darker surrounding foliage.

The work is signed lower right in Cyrillic, reading В. Эрлих / V. Erlikh, and is also inscribed to the reverse. The verso inscription appears to include “Натюрморт”, meaning Still Life, together with the canvas size 60 x 70 cm. There is also a further upper inscription which may relate to a studio, catalogue or inventory number.

Erlikh was a Ukrainian/Soviet artist associated with Dnipropetrovsk, now Dnipro, and is recorded as a painter of portraits, landscapes and still lifes. This work is a strong example of his floral subject matter, combining decorative richness with a bold, painterly handling.

Presented in a gilt-effect frame with decorative border detailing. The painting is in good overall vintage condition, with some light age-related wear to the frame. Please see photographs for full condition details.
